You will have a 1 on 1 visit with the doctor to discuss your health concerns and the reason for your visit.
At the conclusion of the initial health consultation, we will perform thorough a chiropractic exam.
A series X-rays may be needed to allow us to clearly determine a proper care plan. X-rays provide us with an objective diagnostic tool that will show us the position of the spinal bones, as well as the quality of the spine and safety of adjusting it. We may also use X-rays to determine how long a spinal condition has been developing.
Report of Findings
Your report of findings will be scheduled the day after your Initial Consultation. This will allow your doctor time to study your exam findings, along with any x-rays taken. You may invite anyone in your family to accompany you, if you choose.
Your Report of Findings includes a detailed explanation of what you need in order to solve the problem that brought you into our office, and guidance to prevent it from happening again. We consider your current lifestyle choices, goals for the future, and challenges that are standing in your way. This is why our recommendations are thorough and have the opportunity to be the solution that you have been looking for.
Our staff strives to keep waiting times to a minimum, so we ask that all patients be prompt for their appointments so we can stay on track. Your regular appointments start with some time on the traction table to loosen up your body. Then, an adjustment will be given by the doctor, then anything else done during that visit will depend on the doctor’s recommendations. Stretching, exercise instruction, or other advice, may be given as part of the doctor's plan for you. Questions are not only welcomed, they are encouraged!
We consistently update and customize your care plan and wellness programs. The foundation for overall health is based on proper spinal alignment, nutritious foods, regular exercise, proper ergonomics, high quality supplementation and a variety of stress relief techniques.
The importance of prevention should not be overlooked. To achieve total wellness, we believe it’s vital that you become involved in your own recovery. The best results come from a combination of chiropractic adjustments and living a healthy lifestyle. Homan Chiropractic is an important partner in your health care.
When you’ve reached your goals, you’ll be released from care. Some patients choose to continue seeing us because they feel better and stay healthier. Regular check-ups, once a month or every 6-8 weeks, can help you feel great, too.

Injuries from an Auto Accident
Whiplash is a common injury for people involved in car collisions. When a car is struck from behind or collides with another object, it causes the neck to snap back and forth violently. This causes the muscles and ligaments to overextend, leading to strains and/or tears. This is referred to as soft tissue damage, and can cause stiffness, soreness and headaches. Whiplash can also cause structural damage such as misaligned vertebrae, herniated, bulging or ruptured discs, or nerve damage due to the overextension from the violent movement. Chiropractic can help with both types of injuries. Adjustments can be performed specifically for those who have been in car accidents and suffered from whiplash. The pressure on the discs and nerves is released when the spine is returned to its proper alignment. Chiropractic can be used to help relieve the pain and discomfort from soft tissue injuries. If you have been in a car accident, schedule an appointment with us before relying on pain medications and surgery. In many cases, you can experience relief from these conditions through chiropractic. By properly aligning the spine, pressure can be relieved on nerves and on the discs themselves. This will reduce and hopefully eliminate your pain and discomfort and allow you to live a normal lifestyle.
How Can a Chiropractor Help Me After My Auto Accident? Chiropractors are able to treat neck and back injuries associated with auto accidents. Many times, individuals who have been injured in a car accident experience muscle pain and stiffness that they simply cannot function normally. When left untreated, this discomfort can become a chronic issue.
After an auto accident, some individuals experience indicators of whiplash injuries right away, such as blurred vision, headaches, shoulder pain, dizziness, and reduced range of motion and arm pain. Whiplash can also result in minor back injuries, muscle injuries, ligament problems, and disc damage.
On the Job Injuries
Studies show that chiropractic care is twice as effective as other treatments in returning workers to the workplace following a back injury. The Agency for Health Care Policy Research guidelines recommends the use of spinal manipulation for acute low back problems over any other treatment.
